Sr. Software Engineer (seniority based on experience)

Description
This is a senior engineering position on our core product development team, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including the technical analysis, design, implementation, and quality assurance. As a senior member of the team, you will own one or more major functional areas and drive development of new application functionality.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding programming skills, business acumen, and the ability to take creative ideas and transform them into high-quality software solutions. We’re looking for individuals with a high degree of self motivation, an unwavering commitment to excellence, excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and is fun to work with.
Prerequisites
- Requires a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Startup Experience
Requirements
- 8+ years hands on experience building scalable, database driven web applications using Java on Linux, ideally multi-tenant on demand (ASP, SaaS) applications
- Expertise in the Java tech stack, and proven ability to build vertical application functionality from the UI down to the database leveraging open source frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, and Velocity on an Oracle database
- Ability to solve complex problems with innovative and elegant designs and deliver robust functionality on time
- In depth domain experience in one or more of the following:
- Recommendation Engines
- Internet advertising, Behavioral Ad Networks
- E-commerce, digital marketing, behavioral eMarketing
- Personalization, behavioral analysis, profiling
- Learning systems, predictive modeling techniques
- Web Analytics, text mining, data mining
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of web browser tech (JavaScript, DOM, Cookies, Http, AJAX) a plus
