Cell's Corner: Personalization Tops Retailers' Agenda
Welcome to the MyBuys Fall newsletter! We just returned from the Shop.Org Annual Summit in Las Vegas, where personalization was at the top of everyone's To Do list. Our booth was packed, and it was great to see the market for personalized product recommendations that we helped pioneer come of age. As a result, we continue to see tremendous growth, both here at MyBuys and in our clients' overall site revenue, AOV and response to email campaigns.
The good news from the show is that revenues are up and consumers are buying more. The retailers in attendance share our enthusiasm for the upcoming holiday season. It's clear that the way to capture a bigger share of wallet in 2010 is to present consumers with the most relevant interactions and best shopping experience—which MyBuys helps you do. We think the worst of the recession is behind us, and consumers and merchants are ready for an exciting and profitable holiday season.
As the leaders in personalization, we continue to look for ways to add value to the retail community and to give you the tools and tips you need to succeed in 2010. That's why we recently launched the MyBuys E-commerce Wellness Index, which you can read about in this issue. We also hosted a recent webinar featuring Sucharita Mulpuru from Forrester Research and Andrew Koven from Steve Madden shoes, attended by over 200 retailers. At Shop.org, we were fortunate to be joined by Jason Marshall, VP and GM at Gaiam Direct, who presented with us at a Big Idea Session. You can read in this issue the great results Gaiam got with MyBuys, including revenue per clicked session up 14%, a 4x increase in revenue per email, and recommendation click-through rate up 300%. All these results were proven with rigorous A/B testing.
